After discontinuing the CT 200h in the US market, the Japanese luxury car company has launched an upgraded version of the small hatchback for the key European market.
In late May 2017, Lexus announced that the 2017 CT 200h would be the last version in the US market and that no further upgrades would be released. The decision was made because sales of the small hatchback model had dropped sharply here. |
That's why the luxury car company quickly brought the upgraded version of CT 200h 2018 to its key markets such as Japan, China and especially Europe, which accounts for more than 1/3 of the sales of the small hatchback CT 200h. |
Overall, the 2018 Lexus CT 200h has a more impressive appearance than before, but the engine block has nothing new with a maximum capacity of 136 horsepower and an acceleration time of 0-100 km/h of 10.2 seconds, this is an engine block equivalent to the green car Toyota Prius. |
In terms of design, the 2018 CT 200h receives a new "eye" and grille design, in which the daytime running lights integrated into the headlights are L-shaped and use Led technology, the fog light border is painted in metallic gray. |
Rounding out the rear of the car, the taillight cluster still has the familiar L-shaped design of the old version, but in the CT 200h 2018, it has been enlarged in size, giving it a stronger appearance. |
The rear bumper combines two metallic silver and black colors with gray painted side panels. New alloy wheels offer customers size options from 15-17 inches. |
Inside the cockpit, the 2018 CT 200h does not have many changes compared to the old version, the most notable upgrade is the entertainment system equipped with a new 10.3-inch touch screen instead of the previous 7-inch screen. |
If not satisfied with the standard version, customers can choose the F-Sport version with an exterior painted in two colors: orange and dark blue, combined with many details such as fog lamp housings, radiator grille and rear bumper painted in black to create a contrasting look. |
In addition, the F-Sport version also has a newly designed grille, new cylinders and high-class interior designed by Takumi artisans. |
Lexus also offers safety equipment with the new Lexus Safety System + package option for the 2018 CT 200h. Forward and rear collision warning system, radar cruise control, lane departure and lane keeping warning, lane change traffic alert, automatic high beams and a departure warning system with steering control function. |
Unfortunately, the engine on the 2018 Lexus CT 200h is still a gasoline engine combined with an electric motor with a total maximum capacity of 136 horsepower. The small hatchback can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 10.2 seconds, with a maximum speed of 180 km/h. |
The price of the Lexus CT 200h 2018 will be announced later this year when the model is officially introduced. |
