Pakistan denies sending troops to Qatar

Pakistan has dismissed as "fabricated and baseless" reports that it plans to deploy troops to Qatar amid diplomatic tensions in the Middle East.

Nafees Zakaria, spokesman for Pakistan's Foreign Ministry, said "these false reports appear to be part of a malicious campaign to create misunderstanding between Pakistan and its Muslim fraternity in the Gulf," according to the news agency.PTI.

He called the information in foreign media "completely fabricated and baseless".Earlier, information about Pakistan sending troops to Qatar appeared when Türkiye decided to send troops to Qatar.

Bahrain, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates have cut ties with Qatar, accusing it of supporting extremist groups.

Pakistan has good relations with both Saudi Arabia and Qatar and has so far maintained a neutral stance on the issue.
