Planting rice to help families in distress in Hung Nguyen

(Baonghean.vn) - June 15, Hung Lam Commune Delegation(Hung Nguyen, Nghe An)Coordinated with the Women's Union of the commune and the Hung Lam Association in Korea to give gifts and plant rice to help the family of Mr. Nguyen Van Hai, a household with special circumstances in the area.

Mr. Nguyen Van Hai's family in Hamlet 7 is in a difficult situation, and his son, Nguyen Van Quan (born in 1999), just died in a traffic accident on June 8. The pain of losing a child has devastated his family. Mrs. Nguyen Thi Loan - Quan's mother, has to stay in bed.

Currently, the locality is in the 3-in-1 crop season (harvesting rice, harvesting peanuts, and planting rice). Realizing that the surrounding people have almost all planted rice, while Mr. Hai's family has not done anything, the Hung Lam Commune Youth Union has decided to coordinate with the Commune Women's Union and the Hung Lam Association in Korea to organize gifts and help Mr. Hai's family plant rice in time for the season.

With the spirit of “loving others as you love yourself”, from morning to afternoon of June 15, the unions mobilized nearly 20 people, both men and women, to pull up rice seedlings and complete the planting of 3 sao of wet rice fields for Mr. Hai’s family. In addition, Hung Lam’s children far from home donated 2 million VND to support the family in difficult times.

Mr. Nguyen Trong Thuong - Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union of Hung Lam commune said: "Helping disadvantaged and unfortunate families is one of the traditional activities of the local youth union. Through these activities, the organizations wish to help and share with families in difficult circumstances, strengthening the relationship between the village and the neighborhood."
