Vietnam Idol Kids judges burst into tears when hearing blind child Minh Hien talk about her dream

Minh Hien - a 9-year-old contestant - made Van Mai Huong cry when she expressed her dream in the "Vietnam's Idol Kids 2017" round.

The second competition night of the Studio round (broadcast on the evening of June 2) was a competition between eight girls including: Ha Chi, Thu Uyen, Thanh Ngoc, Thao Nguyen, Bao An, Khanh Linh, Thuc Trinh and Minh Hien.

Blind singer Minh Hien continues to win the hearts of the judges. She sings the song “Day Da Bom Bong”, sending a message of optimism and love of life.

The 9-year-old singer moved viewers when he shared: "My biggest dream is to see the sky and the things around me."

Van Mai Huong cried when she heard her daughter's story. The singer said: "Every time I meet Hien, I feel like I'm not good enough, because sometimes I don't respect myself or believe in myself. Thank you because there are things I can't do as well as you, that is optimism."

Minh Hien's mother said that her daughter was born with retinopathy of prematurity. Her parents took her to many places for treatment, but Minh Hien still could not see light. "At first, she was quite slow compared to her friends. Since entering school, she has integrated well and is happy. She has a more optimistic and confident personality than her mother," her mother confided.

However, at the chorus, she forgot the lyrics and hesitated for a moment before being able to get back into the rhythm. The judges gave Thu Uyen reassuring signs to calm her down.

Isaac was delighted by Thu Uyen's performance. He said: "Your voice is very loud and strong. I didn't dare to believe that this voice came from a tiny girl. Today you sang this song very sweetly. I just want to give you some advice. If you forget the lyrics next time, just sing. Actually, if you sing, I don't know you forgot the lyrics."

Thu Uyen said her family is poor so she cannot afford to travel and has never been to Hue.She lives with her mother and older sister in the suburbs of Pleiku city, Gia Lai. Her father went to Binh Dinh to work as a security guard, and her mother is a seasonal worker in a wood factory.

Thu Uyen, Minh Hien and Thao Nguyen were chosen by the judges. Thanh Ngoc and Ha Chi were in the top 5 female contestants decided by the voting panel. Meanwhile, Bao An, Khanh Linh and Thuc Trinh left the show.
