Two fourth-year students Phan Dang Kiet and Nguyen Van Trung from the Institute of Engineering and Technology, Vinh University, are still happy and proud when their programming software achievements were recognized and highly appreciated in the first student festival in 2017.

Sharing with us, Phan Dang Kiet said that the idea of building VietEduSoft started when he was in 11th grade at Le Viet Thuat school. At that time, when his Biology teacher gave him a homework assignment to create a crossword puzzle on paper based on the topic, Kiet came up with the idea of doing it on the computer.

Having loved information technology since childhood, he has been self-studying, researching and programming since grade 9. Thanks to that, Kiet created the first version of VietEduSoft. Although the first version was simple and did not have many applications like today, it was still asked by many teachers in Kiet's high school to use it. This is one of the motivations for Kiet to develop later versions.

At university, Kiet decided to take the entrance exam to the information technology department of Vinh University and met Nguyen Van Trung. Both students quickly found common interests and ideas about game show creation software.

Nguyen Van Trung said, “To have the current VietEduSoft program, we have created up to 8 versions, of which 6 versions are available for users. After completing each version of VietEduSoft, we introduce and share it on technology forums for everyone to use and comment. From the feedback of users, we will listen and analyze to edit it to make it more reasonable.” Notably, among the users who responded, there were also those who worked in “Road to Olympia”, the program that the simulation software contributed comments and helped.

VietEduSoft software is currently the 8th version consisting of 5 parts, created based on the script of the knowledge game show on television: “Road to Olympia”. VietEduSoft is easy to compose, easy to access functions, saving much more time than the popular MS PowerPoint tool today.

The main functions of the program are to support game creation with eye-catching visual effects, pre-added sounds, and many other functions but with simple operations, easy to use, suitable for both teachers and high school students who are not specialized in IT.

Confidence Center “We created VietEduSoft with the hope of helping to promote the application of information technology in teaching and learning. Thereby increasing the effectiveness of projector-based lessons as well as increasing creativity and reducing the time spent on preparing lectures.”

Since more than 1 year of launching the latest version, VietEduSoft of two talented students of Vinh University has been used by tens of thousands of students and teachers across the country. At the same time, this is also a rare software for creating knowledge game shows for electronic education that allows users to access for free.

In the near future, Kiet and Trung said they will research to create more complete functions for VietEduSoft as well as develop new software to support comprehensive development for children, support education for people with disabilities... in the future.
