The majority of Russians want Mr. Putin to continue as President.
66% of Russians want incumbent President Putin to continue to win the 2018 Russian presidential election.
This is the result of a public opinion poll conducted by the independent Russian social research organization Levada from June 23 to 26 on 1,600 people aged 18 and over in 137 residential areas of 48 regions of Russia.

The survey results also showed that 42% of respondents wanted the future President to implement domestic policies as they are now, while 34% said a more decisive approach is needed.
On foreign policy, 56% said the President should continue to implement foreign policy as it is now, 19% supported a more assertive policy towards the West, while only 13% said there should be less confrontation.
The Russian presidential election for a new term will be held in March 2018. President Putin has not yet decided whether to run for a new term or not./.
