Free night English classes for children in mountainous areas

(Baonghean.vn) - From the idea of ​​the commune Youth Union officials hoping to create a useful playground during the summer, a free English class in Linh Son, Anh Son was opened, attracting a large number of children to participate.

In mid-June, when students were on summer vacation, with the idea of ​​creating a healthy and useful playground for the children of the commune, Mr. Nguyen Hong Son, a cadre of the Youth Union of Village 9, came up with the idea with the Youth Union of Linh Son commune to call for opening a free summer English class for primary and secondary school students.

Mr. Son said that when he first came up with the idea, he wanted to call on teachers and professionals to open free English classes in the locality. While he was trying to mobilize them, he was also worried that the idea would not come true because "who knows, there might not be anyone to teach them and we wouldn't be able to motivate the children to come to class."

However, when the call was just made, 3 people signed up to teach, including: Ms. Nguyen Thu Hang - teacher at Phan Thai At Secondary School (Linh Son), Nguyen Thi Thuy An - student at Thai Nguyen University, Ms. Nguyen Thi Tinh is an interpreter for a foreign company on maternity leave. All 3 people are residents of Hamlet 9. All of them want their children to have English communication skills.

Hearing about the free English class, 45 students from Linh Son commune signed up. The class only took place in the village's small cultural house, but both teachers and students were very excited. Three evenings a week, the students not only received foreign language training from teachers but also participated in fun games and practiced life skills.

This is truly a useful and meaningful activity for children in the highlands of Nghe An during the summer days.
