"Otto is in a stable condition but has suffered severe neurological damage," Martin said at a press conference.
Also at the press conference, Otto Warmbier's father, Fred Warmbier, said he did not believe North Korea's explanation that Warmbier's coma was caused by poisoning and sleeping pills.
The 22-year-old man, who lives in Cincinnati, Ohio, has been detained for more than a year after being arrested by North Korean authorities for removing propaganda banners at a hotel in Pyongyang./.
