The country's largest drug production 'corporation' was arrested

Hundreds of police officers simultaneously surrounded and searched 13 drug factories owned by Duong in Ho Chi Minh City, Nha Trang, and Hanoi; confiscated synthetic drugs estimated to be worth more than 200 billion VND, supercars, and many cars.

On June 1, Ho Chi Minh City police arrested more than 20 people in a drug production and trafficking ring led by Van Kinh Duong (aka Hieu, 36 years old, living in Hanoi).

Duong served a 6-year sentence but then escaped from prison. Wanted, he forged documents under the name Tran Ngoc Hieu and then operated a drug production operation.

Previously, Binh Thanh District Police detectives discovered that Duong supplied synthetic drugs to many networks in Ho Chi Minh City. The "boss" was willing to sell tens of thousands of ecstasy pills and other synthetic drugs to customers, according to orders, in a short period of time.

Duong has many drug factories in Ho Chi Minh City located in Trung Son and Phu My Hung areas; nearly ten other factories in Nha Trang, Dong Nai, Hanoi...

To avoid detection, the factories were located in deserted areas. After producing a few batches of drugs, Duong said he would move locations.

Duong monitors and operates the entire network through social media and camera systems. Occasionally, the "boss" visits the factories to inspect.

Duong was assisted by dozens of relatives, so the operation was completely closed. The most effective was his cousin Nguyen Duc Ky Nam (49 years old). Having a good knowledge of chemicals, Nam directly prepared the powdered drugs, dried them, and pressed them. The finished products were batches of ecstasy packaged like coffee, weighing one kilogram.

According to the investigation, since the beginning of last year, Duong's "group" has produced nearly 300 kg, selling each ecstasy pill for about 200,000 VND. The goods were transported from Saigon to Hanoi in suitcases, each time weighing more than 50 kg.

The project to destroy the drug ring was directed by Major General Phan Anh Minh - Deputy Director of Ho Chi Minh City Police - and mobilized many forces to participate. Recently, when Duong just landed at Tan Son Nhat airport, he was controlled by detectives. Many of his juniors were also caught one by one.

At the same time, more than 200 soldiers simultaneously surrounded and searched 13 drug factories and residences of Duong's group in Ho Chi Minh City and other provinces.

Authorities seized more than 500,000 ecstasy pills, 120kg of drug powder (estimated at more than 200 billion VND). More than 10 billion VND, 7 cars (including a 25 billion VND supercar), many machines, real estate in Ho Chi Minh City, Nha Trang... believed to be related to illegal acts were sealed.

Ho Chi Minh City Police leaders assessed this as the largest ecstasy production and trafficking ring in the country to date.
