The Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) quoted a statement from the North's Ministry of State Security as emphasizing: "From this moment on, former President Park Geun-hye and former intelligence chief Lee Byung-ho as well as the staff of the National Intelligence Service can never appeal, even if they face the death penalty at any time, at any place and by any means."
The statement also demanded that South Korea immediately hand over the two men to Pyongyang and accused them of committing what North Korea called acts of terrorism.
In addition, North Korea also warned that it would immediately apply sanctions without prior notice to those who organized, participated in or pursued the above plot in case the US and South Korea again seek to carry out the plot to assassinate the North Korean leader.
