Ambulance driver threatens to slash truck that is not from Nghe An Mental Hospital

That is the information that Dr. Phan Kim Thin - Director of Nghe An Mental Hospital said about the collision with a truck, the ambulance driver pulled out a knife and threatened to slash on the afternoon of July 11.

At the above time, on Vinh bypass in Hung Nguyen town (Hung Nguyen district), ambulance with license plate 37A - 0615 driven by Xen Hong Ha (born in 1985), residing in Thach Giam, Tuong Duong district, passing through the intersection of Hung Nguyen town, collided with truck with license plate 37C- 24441 driven by Nguyen Xuan Ly (born in 1993), residing in hamlet 20, Quynh Van commune, Quynh Luu district.

After Mr. Ly's truck was rear-ended by an ambulance, he pulled his truck to the side of the road to avoid blocking traffic. The ambulance driver immediately got out of the truck and ran towards him with a kitchen knife, demanding him to get out of the truck before chopping at the left side window, shattering the windshield.

Not stopping there, driver Ha continued to jump into the car and leaned into the cockpit, making threatening remarks. In that situation, driver Ly and assistant driver Le Van Thang opened the door from the cockpit to get out of the car. Seeing the two getting out of the car, driver Ha continued to chase and threaten to slash. However, Mr. Ly quickly grabbed driver Ha's hand, hugged him tightly, and held the weapon, thus preventing any bad behavior that could have happened.

The incident was later prevented by local people and Hung Nguyen district police arrived promptly, temporarily detained the driver and vehicle for investigation.

The ambulance with license plate 37A-0615 was registered by Nghe An Mental Hospital. However, Dr. Pham Kim Thin, Director of the hospital, confirmed that the ambulance with license plate 37A-0615 had been auctioned by the hospital since December 2016. The vehicle was then sold for 42 million VND through Phu Quy Auction Company. The driver who slashed the truck driver was not an employee of the mental hospital.
