SLNA U15 pillar misses 2017 Southeast Asian U15 Championship

(Baonghean.vn) – On July 7, coach Vu Hong Viet and his team officially left for Thailand to participate in the 2017 Southeast Asian U15 Football Championship. Unfortunately, there were only 4 faces from U15 SLNA in the delegation.

Coach Vu Hong Viet has finalized the official list of 23 players participating in the tournament. Notably, on the way to Thailand, the Vietnam U15 team will also be accompanied by Coach Hoang Anh Tuan and Technical Director Juergen Gege.

In the squad, 4 players from the SLNA U15 team were selected to participate in the 2017 Southeast Asian U15 Championship: midfielders Duong Van Cuong, Ngo Quang Thuan, Phan Ba ​​Quyen and goalkeeper Nguyen Van Viet.

In the case of midfielder Nguyen Van Bach (born in 2003), the best player of the 2016 National U13 Finals, because he was asked to play in a position that was not his forte, defender, he had to return to his club to rest and prepare for the upcoming National U15 Finals.

Previously, midfielder Dinh Xuan Tien, the best player of the 2014 Nghe An Newspaper Cup Youth Football Tournament, also had to say goodbye to the Vietnam U15 team early. Dinh Xuan Tien was highly appreciated by head coach Vu Hong Viet. However, during a training session before the International U15 Football Tournament taking place in Da Nang, this player suffered a thigh injury and had to return to the club for treatment.

At the upcoming U15 Southeast Asian tournament, the U15 Vietnam team is in Group B with Cambodia, Timor Leste, Malaysia, the Philippines and Brunei. Coach Vu Hong Viet and his team will play their opening match on July 10 against U15 Cambodia.
