Nghe An: Vehicles temporarily seized to enforce collection of outstanding transportation tax debts.

(Baonghean.vn) - Faced with the situation of transport businesses persistently defaulting on tax payments, Yen Thanh district (Nghe An province) has enforced tax collection against 25 transport businesses that owe more than 200 million VND in taxes.

In Dong Thanh commune, despite numerous campaigns, appeals, and notices sent to households, as well as the public posting of tax debt lists at the commune's People's Committee office and announcements on the public address system, most transportation businesses in the area still deliberately delay and fail to fulfill their tax obligations to the state.

In response to this situation, the inter-agency tax debt collection team of Yen Thanh district, in coordination with the People's Committee of Dong Thanh commune, implemented coercive measures to enforce administrative tax decisions by seizing the vehicles of tax-owing households.

In addition, during the course of their duties, the inter-agency team also discovered and dealt with two transport business owners who failed to register and fulfill their state tax obligations.

To evade authorities, many households deliberately disposed of their assets, moved vehicles out of the area, or locked their houses and went away. Some households refused to cooperate, but with a firm attitude combined with analysis, propaganda, and persuasion, these households eventually complied with their tax obligations.

Over the three days from May 29th to 31st, nine transport businesses fulfilled their tax obligations, paying over 85 million VND. The team will continue working to recover all outstanding tax debts in Dong Thanh commune and implement coercive measures to collect outstanding tax debts in the remaining communes, determined to combat tax evasion in the area.
