The new measure is an amendment to the Iran sanctions bill. It also includes a provision that would prevent President Donald Trump from weakening or rescinding the measures imposed without congressional approval.
Earlier, the US Senate announced a bill on new sanctions against Russia. Russian banks subject to the new sanctions could have their funding terms limited from 90 days to 14 days, according to the document.
US companies and citizens will be prohibited from entering into "all arrangements with financing and other business relationships with new debt for a period longer than 14 days".
