Veteran Quynh Luu: Many good business models

(Baonghean.vn) - Implementing the movement of Quynh Luu veterans doing good business, helping each other to eliminate hunger and reduce poverty, up to now the district association has 177 farm models with annual profits of over 100 million VND, 488 production and business models with profits of over 100 million VND/year and 29 models with profits of over 500 million VND/year.

On June 12 and 13, the Quynh Luu District Veterans Association held its 6th Congress for the 2017-2022 term. Attending the congress were comrades: Nguyen Ngoc Tran - Vice President of the Provincial Veterans Association; Hoang Van Bo - Standing Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee; Hoang Danh Lai - Deputy Secretary, Chairman of the District People's Committee; comrades in the District Party Committee Standing Committee, leaders of district-level departments, agencies, and branches, communes, towns, and 152 outstanding delegates representing nearly 1,500 Veterans Association members in the district.

The Quynh Luu District Veterans Association currently has 409 branches in 39 association bases. During the past term, the Association at all levels focused on promoting the movement of veterans doing good business, helping each other to eliminate hunger and reduce poverty. Currently, the district association has 177 farm models with annual profits of over 100 million VND, 488 production and business models with profits of over 100 million VND/year and 29 models with profits of over 500 million VND/year.

Charity work is also focused on, the association has mobilized organizations, businesses, and individuals to participate in supporting and helping many war veterans in difficulty to repair and rebuild new houses. Thanks to that, the life of members has been increasingly improved, the rate of poor households is now only 1.2%, the rate of well-off households is 72%. In 5 years, the district War Veterans Association has mobilized members to participate in over 1,000 working days, contributing over 71 million VND in cash, repairing 46 houses of gratitude for policy families and poor households.

In the program of building new rural areas, the War Veterans Association at all levels mobilized cadres and members to voluntarily donate more than 135,000 m2, demolished more than 20,000 m2 of perimeter roads and works worth more than 1.6 billion VND, contributed 22,000 working days and 3.3 billion VND to build rural roads, cultural works, environmental sanitation...

The work of training cadres always receives attention, 100% of the association and branch leaders are trained in professional skills, political education, and disseminated the policies and guidelines of the Party and State. The results of the assessment and classification of clean and strong association organizations, exemplary members, and cultural families increase every year...

On this occasion, the leaders of Quynh Luu district also presented the district's Association of War Veterans with a banner bearing the words "Loyalty, solidarity, exemplary, innovation".

With the spirit of democracy and solidarity, the Congress elected the Executive Committee of the Quynh Luu District Veterans Association for the 6th term, 2017-2022 term, consisting of 25 comrades. Comrade Le Van Dien, Chairman of the 5th term Veterans Association, continued to be elected as Chairman of the District Veterans Association for the 6th term, 2017-2022 term. The Congress also elected 16 official delegates and 1 alternate delegate to attend the upcoming Provincial Veterans Association Congress.
