The Kia Stonic, a new SUV launched in 2017, competes with the Mazda CX-3, Toyota C-HR, and Nissan Juke.

Hyundai has entered the compact SUV segment with the Kia Stonic, which is expected to launch in late 2017.

Newly released sketches of the Kia Stonic offer a glimpse into the new, practical, and youthful model. Similarities between the Kona and Kia's product include a sloping rear end and a muscular hood with prominent creases.

The Kia Stonic boasts a compact, sleek, and powerful design.

The headlights feature LED daytime running lights, but the design isn't as unconventional as the Kona's. No interior images have been released yet, but the Korean automaker stated: "The car's cockpit has a European design style, reflecting the exterior with straight lines, smooth surfaces, and geometric design."

According to Carscoops, the Stonic compensates for its limited interior space with smart features, including a user-friendly, fluid interface. The system connects to the car via smartphone to navigate its functions. The new model also offers customizable interior and exterior options to meet customer requirements.

Kia is currently keeping information about the engine for the Stonic under wraps, but it's likely to be equipped with a 1.4-liter petrol engine, a 1.6-liter diesel engine in Europe, or a 1.6-liter petrol engine in the North American market.
