UK: Conservative Party and DUP sign power-sharing agreement
(Baonghean.vn)- On June 26, British Prime Minister Theresa May's Conservative Party signed an agreement with the Democratic Unionist Party (DUP - the largest political party in Northern Ireland), which will allow the Conservative Party to take over the country after losing its majority in the general election earlier this month.

"An agreement has been reached," Mrs May's spokesman confirmed. The agreement was signed between senior Conservative official Gavin Williamson and senior DUP member Jeffrey Donaldson, witnessed by Prime Minister Theresa May and DUP leader Arlene Foster.
Ms Foster said she was delighted the deal had been struck, while Prime Minister May stressed the Conservatives and DUP “shared many values” and the deal was “very good”.
The Conservative Party won only 317 out of 650 seats in Parliament after the election on June 8, and needs to form a coalition with the DUP party, which has 10 seats in Parliament, to be able to take power.
Meanwhile, according to The Sun, Prime Minister May has agreed to provide an additional 1 billion pounds to Northern Ireland to gain the support of the DUP./.
