Announcing the brand name for grilled mackerel from Cua Lo.
(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of June 6th, the Cua Lo Grilled Mackerel Production and Business Association, in coordination with the Cua Lo Town Agricultural Extension Station, held an event to announce the Cua Lo Grilled Mackerel brand.
Currently, the entire town has more than 40 households specializing in preserving and processing grilled mackerel, mainly concentrated in Nghi Hai and Nghi Thuy wards, with an output of about 250 tons/year, achieving a revenue of about 45 billion VND/year.
The ingredients for grilled mackerel are carefully selected, using only fresh, high-quality white mackerel weighing an average of 2kg or more per fish.

The fish is grilled manually over charcoal fire. After grilling, the fish can be consumed immediately or cooled on bamboo racks before being stored in cold storage or freezers. Cua Lo grilled mackerel is consumed everywhere, especially in the northern provinces and cities.
However, currently, grilled mackerel from Cua Lo is only packaged manually, without its own packaging or brand. Based on this practical need, the Cua Lo Grilled Mackerel Production and Business Association proposed the recognition of the collective trademark "Cua Lo Grilled Mackerel," and the Intellectual Property Office granted trademark certificate No. 27329 with the following product categories: Group 29: Grilled mackerel and Group 35: Buying and selling grilled mackerel.

Grilled mackerel from Cua Lo is the fourth collective trademark recognized for the town, following those for fish sauce and peeled shrimp. This is a necessary and urgent step to increase the value and competitiveness of grilled mackerel in the market; at the same time, it creates a reliable, high-quality product to serve tourists from within and outside the province when they visit the Cua Lo beach resort area.
