Mr. Nguyen Van Loi's family in village 13, Long Son commune had to hire people to focus on harvesting 1 hectare of tea season. Unlike other years at this time, when drought often greatly affects the productivity of tea plants, this time the continuous rain helps the tea plants grow well. Mr. Loi said: During the drought, on average it takes 60 days for a tea plant to be harvested, with heavy rain and high humidity like now, the tea plant only needs 45 days to be harvested. Not only that, the rain also helps the tea buds to be younger, resulting in higher productivity. Each hectare on average yields 5.5 - 6 tons/ha. With the tea price of 40,000 VND/yen, this tea crop Mr. Loi earned 20 million VND.

Mr. Nguyen Van Tuan - Vice Chairman of Long Son Commune People's Committee said: This commune currently has 250 hectares of tea grown by people in villages 1, 2, 7, 8 and most concentrated in village 11. The average yield per crop is 5 - 6 tons/ha, some well-maintained tea gardens have a yield of over 6 tons/ha, people are very excited. However, due to heavy rain, transporting tea is also more difficult because the roads are muddy.

Mr. Nguyen Huu Hoan - Vice Chairman of Hung Son Commune People's Committee said: For many years, tea trees have become the main crop to reduce poverty and enrich the people of Hung Son. This year, the weather is favorable with a lot of rain, so people harvest 6 batches of tea/year. The average yield is 30 tons/ha. Hung Son people earn over 100 million VND/year/ha. However, heavy rain is also a favorable condition for pests to develop, especially fungi, so the locality is directing people to monitor and prevent them in time.
