40 police officers 'rescued' a thief from a mob of 300 people.

An angry mob of villagers surrounded and wanted to beat up the thief who dared to sneak in, forcing 40 police officers to work hard to maintain order.

Around 9:00 AM on July 28th, residents of H commune...Cai Chanh, Hai Lang, Quang TriPolice discovered a young man breaking into the home of Mr. Vo Van Thang. A 5-year-old boy was sleeping inside the house.

Upon discovering the incident, Mr. Thang shouted, "Thief! Child kidnapper!" Neighbors immediately surrounded the young man, preventing him from escaping. The number of people participating in the "catch the thief" grew steadily, estimated at around 300. Many of them wanted to assault the thief and teach him a lesson he would never forget.

Upon receiving the news, authorities dispatched approximately 40 police officers to the scene to protect the young man from the unruly crowd. Police vehicles had to back up close to Thang's house to safely escort him away from the scene.

Authorities identified the young man as Le Thanh Trung, 23 years old, residing in Khanh Hoa province. In mid-July, Trung applied to sell tickets at a local variety show troupe. After three days, he left and on July 19th broke into a resident's house in Trieu Phong district to steal property. Because he did not succeed in his crime, he was released by the police.

Later, Trung continued to cause trouble in Hai Lang district.

Colonel Tran Duc Trieu (Chief of Police of Hai Lang District) said that Trung only intended to steal to get money to return home and did not intend to kidnap children. The police handed him over to a variety show troupe to help him find work and return to his family soon.

Last week, in Hai Duong province, villagers surrounded two men and set fire to their Fortuner vehicle, suspecting that strangers had entered the village to hypnotize and abduct children.Meanwhile, in Hanoi, two women selling toothpicks were also attacked by a mob while approaching a young boy.Local authorities assert that the public's suspicions regarding these incidents are unfounded.
