"I have said many times that I do not like disciplining my comrades and teammates, and even feel very remorseful and hurt, but discipline must be done and violations of the law must be dealt with," General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong said at a meeting with voters in Hanoi on June 23.

Suck everything,carve

Sharing with voters about the work of preventing corruption and waste, the General Secretary said that this policy has made progress when recently many officials have been disciplined, including members of the Central Committee, provincial party secretaries, provincial people's committee chairmen, and deputy ministers... The General Secretary emphasized the spirit of working in a synchronous manner but there must be steps. As recently, the disciplinary action against Mr. Dinh La Thang was welcomed by public opinion as "emotional and reasonable", paving the way for people to move forward, the main purpose is to alert to deter and prevent.

“I have said many times that I do not enjoy disciplining my comrades and teammates, and even feel very tormented and heartbroken, but discipline must be done and violations of the law must be dealt with,” the General Secretary expressed, at the same time saying that this policy still has many difficulties, is not satisfactory and must be continued, and done for a long time. This is not only happening in Vietnam, but looking at the world, it has always happened in all eras. Whatever you hold, you will suck it, you will embezzle it, that is the group interest.

“In the past, cadres were cheerful, ready to go to the front, and shield their comrades from bullets, then people would trust, respect, and love them. But now, when something happens, you eat it first, when you have difficulties, you push it onto others... I am poor like this, you are poor like that, and that gives rise to a loss of trust. This is one of the reasons why we must step up the building of a clean Party and political system, and we must do it regularly,” said the General Secretary.

Promise keptor not?

Agreeing with the voters' assessment, the General Secretary said that this session of the National Assembly only worked for more than 20 days, but achieved great results when passing 12 laws and giving opinions on 6 draft laws. Of which, the National Assembly passed the revised Penal Code, which was a great success. Or projects to solve the problem of bad debt and public debt, which are also very big and very difficult problems. The Law on Planning alone has not been passed because it is difficult and there are still many different opinions, so it must be left to be continued before being passed.

Especially for the question and answer session, for the first time, the National Assembly reserved 3 days for 4 ministers and 1 permanent deputy prime minister to take the floor. The deputies debated very frankly, previously they mostly just asked and answered questions, but now they have switched from discussion to debate. This was summarized by the National Assembly Chairman in the closing session of the meeting. However, the General Secretary also said that the question and answer session still had many limitations, had not gone to the end, and needed to debate more frankly.

“Questioning is to see responsibility, to correct shortcomings and limitations to better perform one's duties. Questioning is not to ask, to answer, to seek information, but to consider personal responsibility, it cannot be blamed on the objective. We must accept responsibility and promise to correct it next time,” said the General Secretary, emphasizing that the important thing is how it is implemented in real life, whether the promise is kept or not, whether there is good inspection and supervision or not.

“You are worried about that, we are worried about that too. There is a lot of talk, but the important thing is whether there is change in life or not. Talking well is necessary, convincing each other is necessary, but then there must be change in reality, that is what is needed,” said the General Secretary.

Golf course in the airport: “so strange!”

Highly appreciating the effectiveness of the recent question-and-answer session, voter Trinh Quoc Viet (Thanh Nhan ward, Hai Ba Trung district) said that increasing the question-and-answer period to 3 days has met voters' wishes. The questioning and answering of questions also demonstrates the role and responsibility of National Assembly deputies, industry commanders, and deputy prime ministers. Voters and people also hope that after the resolution on the questioning is issued, it must be implemented and monitored. "Promises need to be monitored and implemented specifically, so that the responsibilities of each industry can be clarified," Mr. Viet suggested.

Regarding the health sector, voter Nguyen Cong Chat (Pham Dinh Ho ward, Hai Ba Trung district) expressed that at the question and answer session, the Minister of Health said that there was no phenomenon of envelopes, and that the previous shift allowance was not enough for a bowl of pho, but now it has increased to 25,000 VND. "With such an income, why do we only see doctors driving cars?", Mr. Chat raised the issue.

The fight against corruption is also of great concern to voters and the people. Voters are concerned about many major cases that have not been resolved, and even after being resolved, the results still need to be considered. Voters in Hai Ba Trung district believe that the projects worth over 10 trillion VND that are losing money and making the country poor are not due to incompetent officials, but rather due to lack of responsibility and group interests.

Referring to the phenomenon of golf courses in airports, voter Chat said: “Tan Son Nhat Airport is so congested, the whole country is worried, the Government is worried, the Party is worried, but there is a golf course here? I find it strange, the people find it strange! I think it needs to be considered, the interests of the nation and the country must come first, local interests must be eliminated.”
