Pretending to be a foreigner to buy buffalo to scam

Posing as Laotians buying buffalo, three people from Vinh City went to Cam Xuyen District (Ha Tinh) to use fake gold to defraud and exchange it for real gold.

On the afternoon of August 8, information from Cam Xuyen District Police, Ha Tinh Province said that the unit had just issued a decision to prosecute the case, prosecute the accused, and temporarily detain: Tran Nhat Ke (born 1953, Hung Hoa Commune), Le Hong Nhuan (born 1953, Cua Nam Ward), Tran Dinh Nghi (born 1957, Doi Cung Ward) (all from Vinh City, Nghe An Province) for the crime of "Fraudulent appropriation of property".

Accordingly, in recent times, in Cam Xuyen district, there have been continuous cases of property fraud. The subjects used fake gold chains and stones to defraud real gold from local people.

Typically, on July 12, Ms. Le Thi Ly (born in 1961, residing in Hamlet 8B, Cam Trung Commune, Cam Xuyen District) was scammed by thieves and lost a pair of 24k gold earrings worth 3,400,000 VND. Previously, on June 16, Ms. Phan Thi Phe (born in 1949, residing in Thang Thanh Hamlet, Cam Hung Commune, Cam Xuyen District) was scammed by thieves and lost a pair of 24k gold earrings worth about 3,400,000 VND. On the same day, Ms. Vo Thi Truc was scammed and lost a pair of 24k gold earrings worth 6,400,000 VND...

The exhibits were seized by the police.

Upon receiving the report, Cam Xuyen District Police promptly began an investigation to clarify the case. Detectives were deployed to the area to collect evidence, combined with the victim's statements, and simultaneously used professional measures.

In just a short time, Cam Xuyen District Police had sufficient documents and evidence to identify the subjects who caused the above frauds. On August 7, Cam Xuyen District Police urgently arrested 3 subjects: Tran Nhat Ke; Le Hong Nhuan; Tran Dinh Nghi for fraud and property appropriation.

To successfully carry out the above scams, the subjects assigned each other to pretend to be Laotians to buy buffaloes, and others to pretend to be Vietnamese to take Laotians to buy buffaloes. The subjects went to Vinh market (Nghe An) to buy a lot of fake gold and agreed to go from Vinh to Quang Tri. On the way, if they met an elderly woman wearing gold, they would commit fraud and appropriate property.

When arriving at Cam Xuyen district, the subjects approached Ms. Ly, Ms. Phe, and Ms. Truc, asking them to act as witnesses to the buffalo and cow transaction between the two people (the two subjects went together); during the exchange, the subjects used fake gold prepared in advance to trick the victims into believing that this was real gold with great value, and then tricked them into exchanging it for real gold on the victims' bodies with the excuse of buying it as a gift for their wives.

It is known that all three subjects mentioned above have previous convictions for fraud and property appropriation.
