The capital club beat newcomer Amiens 2-0 just one day after the Brazilian superstar's spectacular debut.

Goals: Cavani (42'), Pastore (81').

Newly promoted Amiens did not cause any surprises on their visit to the Parc des Princes.

PSG dominated their opponents but had to wait until the end of the first half to open the scoring through Cavani. The Uruguayan striker received a cross from new signing Dani Alves before handling the ball past and finishing into the net.

The second half played out in a similar fashion to the first. PSG continued to score in the final minutes and Cavani made his mark by setting up Javier Pastore to tap into an empty net.

Pastore played on the left side of a three-man attack in this match. This is Neymar's preferred position and the Argentine will likely have to give it up to his teammate in the following matches. Pastore had previously given the number 10 shirt to the new $263 million signing.

Neymar sat out the Amiens game after failing to complete the paperwork required to register for PSG. The former Barca player was in attendance and watched his new teammates win easily.

Victory over Amiens saw PSG move above defending champions Monaco in the first round of Ligue I. Monaco won 3-2 against Toulouse in the early game and are behind on goal difference to PSG.
