Accepting students to study abroad and then defrauding billions

After receiving the contract, Giang collected 1.2 billion VND from Mr. Tuan's family but only transferred nearly 116 million VND to Australia.

Hanoi police are investigating a case of fraud and appropriation of property through overseas study contracts, related to HRV International Training and Development Joint Stock Company (HRV Company).

According to initial information, from 2013 to 2014, Tran Thu Huong Giang (born in 1986, residing in Vinh Tuy ward, Hai Ba Trung district, Hanoi), Director of HRV Company, signed a self-funded study abroad contract with Mr. Tran Van Tuan (residing in Co Lam village, Binh Dinh commune, Luong Tai district, Bac Ninh province) and agreed to promise to do the procedures for Mr. Tuan's son, Tran Tuan Vu, to study abroad in Australia.

During this process, Giang collected 12 times the amount of money from Mr. Tuan's family with a total amount of 1.2 billion VND, but only transferred to Australia the amount of 6,803 AUD (equivalent to nearly 116 million VND). Giang appropriated the remaining amount for personal expenses.

The investigation agency informs anyone who has been defrauded by Tran Thu Huong Giang (with the above-mentioned background) and has not reported the case, to contact the Investigation Police Agency, Hanoi Police at 55 Ly Thuong Kiet Street, Tran Hung Dao Ward, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi for resolution.
