100% Japanese car prices hit new low

At the beginning of June, a series of cars have simultaneously reduced their selling prices. Among them, there are car models with very strong discounts, up to 150 million VND/car. The Japanese car company Mitsubishi has finally joined in the price reduction with the deepest discount of more than 100 million VND/car.

In today's fierce competition, Mitsubishi cannot sit still. This June, many of its car models are offered a direct discount program on the selling price from 25 to 106 million VND. In addition, some car models are also given some accessories from the dealer.

In particular, the Pajero Sport model has been heavily discounted by Mitsubishi Vietnam, with price reductions of 50 and 106 million VND for the two versions of the car, respectively. In particular, the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport 4x2 AT gasoline engine version has the biggest discount of up to 106 million VND.

The Mitsubishi Outlander model is offered a direct discount of 90 million VND on the selling price of the 2.0 CVT and 2.4 CVT versions. The Triton pickup truck is discounted from 0-60 million VND depending on the version. The Mitsubishi Mirage model is discounted 50 million VND for both versions. Some other Mitsubishi models such as Pajero and Outlander Sport are not directly discounted but are given gifts worth 48 million VND.

Previously, according to Honda's June incentive program sent to car dealers in Hanoi, many car models of this Japanese "giant" will be discounted at extremely "shocking" prices.

In particular, Honda applied the strongest discount policy for the Honda CR-V model, aiming to regain market share from competitors in the same segment, Mazda CX-5 and Nissan X-Trail. According to this incentive program, Honda applied a discount of 150 million VND for the basic CR-V 2.4 AT version and 100 million VND for the CR-V 2.4 AT-TG.

In addition, the Japanese car company also decided to reduce prices for a series of other car models sold in Vietnam such as Accord, Odyssey and Civic Turbo. In particular, the Civic Turbo model has a fairly strong reduction. Customers who buy Honda Civic Turbo from June 5 will receive a direct discount of 50 million VND on the selling price.

With Honda's car prices dropping sharply, many domestic companies cannot sit still.

In mid-May 2017, a representative of Truong Hai Auto Company announced that the price of domestically assembled Mazda cars had hit rock bottom and could not be reduced any further. If there was a reduction, it would only be done by the dealers themselves.

But surprisingly, in early June, Truong Hai also announced a reduction of 30-40 million VND for the Mazda CX5 model. Accordingly, the Mazda CX5 2.0L version was reduced from 879 million VND to 849 million VND, the 2.5L, 1-wheel drive version was reduced from 910 million VND to 880 million VND and the 2.5L, 2-wheel drive version was reduced from 990 million VND to 950 million VND.

In the current car price reduction race, Nissan cannot stay out of it.

After consecutive price reductions, in June, Nissan launched a promotion program for car models sold in Vietnam. In particular, the X-Trail model has the biggest price reduction, from 10-98 million VND, to take the "throne" of the crossover segment.

Nissan also has a discount policy for the X-Trail line.

In addition, customers who buy Nissan's Navara pickup truck will also receive a cash incentive of VND5-30 million depending on the version. Similarly, the Nissan Sunny XV automatic version also has a promotion of 2 accessory options with interior and exterior equipment of the car. The Nissan Teana model also has a cash incentive of VND10-20 million depending on the version. Customers who buy Nissan Juke at this time will also receive a cash gift of VND10 million.

Not to be outdone, Hyundai has also just offered many great incentives for car buyers. This June, all Hyundai models are discounted from 10-70 million VND. Specifically, Hyundai SantaFe is the model with the biggest discount, up to 70 million VND. If you buy the 2016 SantaFe, you will receive incentives and discounts of several tens of millions of VND.

Not being able to stay out of the "whirlwind" of car price reductions, the Ford brand in Vietnam is also heavily discounting many car models. In particular, the Ford Everest model has been discounted by more than 100 million VND. This June, the Ford Focus has also been adjusted to reduce by another 5-10 million VND. The newly launched Ford Ranger version, Wildtrak 3.2 Navigation, is currently priced at 885 million VND, about 40 million VND lower than the suggested price.

Mitsubishi Vietnam has drastically reduced the price of the Pajero Sport model, more than 100 million VND/car.

Toyota is a car company that rarely has promotions or discounts. However, in the current market conditions, the Japanese car company cannot stay out of the race.

In June, Toyota Vietnam did not reduce car prices but also launched a "huge promotion" program, giving away a 3-year or 60,000 km periodic maintenance package to customers who bought cars. In the market, the prices of all car models distributed by Toyota Vietnam have decreased sharply. Camry decreased from 95-120 million VND, Altis decreased from 55-70 million VND, Innova decreased from 65-70 million VND, depending on the version.

According to experts, the continuous price reductions of car manufacturers in recent times have had a certain impact on the market. According to the latest statistics of VAMA, in May, the total sales of the market reached 23,232 vehicles, an increase of 1,740 vehicles compared to April, of which the passenger car segment increased by 20%.
