Honda City 2017 significantly upgraded, price from 568 million in Vietnam
The B-class sedan has an upgraded design and integrates many interior amenities such as leather seats, touch screen, and automatic air conditioning.
City is the first model that Honda Vietnam introduced an upgraded version in 2017. The new version appeared in Thailand from the beginning of 2017. The upgrades in the Vietnamese market are similar to those in Thailand, in which in addition to the refinements in the exterior design to be more sophisticated, the Japanese car company added many interior amenities, especially on the highest-end version.

City 2017 has a radiator grille with a refined horizontal bar, sharper headlights, the highest version uses LED headlights with LED daytime running lights, the front bumper and fog lights are also newly shaped. At the rear of the car, the rear bumper and positioning lights are also redesigned for a sportier feel. The rims are new, 16-inch alloy.
In this upgrade, Honda Vietnam has removed the manual transmission version, the car has 2 versions: 1.5 standard and 1.5 TOP, both using CVT transmission. The 1.5 TOP version has received significant additions in the interior. The car has a 6.8-inch touch screen, leather seats, automatic air conditioning, 8-speaker sound system, HDMI, Bluetooth, USB connection; cruise control, electric windows, automatic for the driver's seat. A variety of utilities for a B-class car.
Honda also added a rear camera, 6 airbags in addition to safety technologies from 2016 such as ABS, EBD, BA, hill start assist, VSA electronic balance. Front disc brakes, rear drum brakes.
The engine is still a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder i-VTEC, electronic fuel injection for 118 horsepower at 6,600 rpm, maximum torque of 145 Nm at 4,600 rpm. Continuously variable automatic transmission with Earth Dreams technology. Virtual gearshift paddles on the steering wheel.

In 2016, City had two versions, manual transmission priced at 533 million and automatic transmission at 583 million. In 2017, City dropped the manual transmission, the automatic transmission version dropped to 568 million and the new 1.5 TOP version cost 604 million. This price is slightly cheaper than Vios, if not counting the dealer's discounts.
In segment B, City is mainly the choice of individuals, young people, who like driving and technology. Not the choice of people who need to do business in transportation, so the manual version has sales of only 10% of the automatic version, this is the reason why Honda has discontinued the manual version. Rival Vios still has a manual version and is the leader in the segment because of its popularity, suitable for many customers.
