Focus on closing the summer-autumn rice area

(Baonghean.vn) - Finishing the spring rice harvest with the joy of a good harvest, farmers in Hoang Mai town are now urgently going to the fields to close the summer-autumn rice area according to the crop schedule.

This summer-autumn crop, the total cultivated area of ​​Hoang Mai town is nearly 2,350 hectares; of which the rice area is 1,280 hectares.

Quynh Xuan Ward is the only unit in Hoang Mai town that produces according to the summer-autumn calendar with a total planting area of ​​265 hectares. According to the structure, hybrid rice is nearly 213 hectares, pure rice is more than 52 hectares.

To ensure high results for the summer-autumn crop, the cooperative disseminates the crop calendar, variety structure, estimates and forecasts on the pest situation. At the beginning of the season, the locality mobilized people to participate in irrigation work in the fields and launched a campaign to catch rats and destroy locusts.

In Quynh Vinh commune, there are more than 330 hectares of winter-spring rice production area. To ensure effective winter-spring rice production and high productivity, the commune has directed agricultural cooperatives and 22 villages to propagate and mobilize farmers to focus on preparing all conditions for production. Currently, in all fields, people are renting machines to till the land, preparing fertilizers, and planting seedlings.

To avoid being affected by storms and floods at the end of the season, the commune recommends that people use some short-term pure rice varieties with high yields such as BC15 and TBR 225... At the same time, apply technical measures to prevent planthoppers right from the seedling stage such as seed treatment, spraying pesticides before transplanting...
