According to the report, the corruption situation in the city is still complicated, with more sophisticated tricks, a wide scope and field of corruption, hidden in a number of areas such as credit, banking, land management and use, site clearance, construction investment, finance, customs, etc.

According to the assessment, the fundamental cause of the above shortcomings and limitations is that state management still reveals many loopholes, management skills are limited, a number of cadres and civil servants lack training and education, take advantage of loopholes in management, mechanisms and policies, or take advantage of assigned tasks to violate regulations and work procedures for personal gain.
Regarding the results of detecting and handling corruption and violations, according to the city police report, in the first 6 months of 2017, 26 cases and 68 defendants were investigated. There have been investigation conclusions and transfer to the Procuracy at all levels to propose prosecution of 9 cases and 39 defendants. 17 cases and 29 defendants are under investigation. Damaged assets are more than 11,000 m2 of land, 939 million VND. Recovered assets are 1,223 m2.2land, 2.51 billion dong.
Regarding the declaration of assets, according to the report of the Hanoi People's Committee, the total number of people who must declare their assets and income is 35,041. Of these, 8 people have not yet declared. In particular, there is 1 case of disciplinary action due to dishonest declaration of assets and income, however, the report does not specify the specific title.
