At least 10% of children are thought to suffer from migraines. This type of headache causes throbbing pain in the head, which can be intense and bother children for hours. Vomiting may even occur.
Headaches can be a result of infection, anxiety, depression, sinusitis, or mild pain in areas such as the neck or head.
Headaches can occur in children from 10 years old and up. Such headaches can even last for 7 days or longer. The pain may occur in the eye area, causing redness of the eyes. The eyes and forehead may even swell.
Frequent headaches can also be caused by tumors. Therefore, if your child complains of persistent headaches, you should take them to the hospital for a check-up as soon as possible.
