10th grade student gets into trouble after breakfast

(Baonghean.vn) - Although only 16 years old, because of being competitive and having fun, Ven Van Xi (born 2000), residing in Huoi Cang 1 village, Bac Ly commune (Ky Son, Nghe An) got into trouble with the law.Xi was prosecuted by the People's Court of Ky Son district for the crime of illegal possession of drugs.

At around 8:00 a.m. on February 23, 2017, while having breakfast at the house of Cut Van Tuyen (born in 1996), Huoi Nhuc village, Pha Danh commune, Tran Nhat Quy (born in 1992), residing in Na Luong 2 village, Huu Kiem commune and Ven Van Xi, residing in Huoi Cang 1 village, Bac Ly commune (Ky Son, 10th grade student) discussed pooling money to go find and buy drugs for use. After pooling 250,000 VND, all three went to Nhot Kho village, Bac Ly border commune to buy drugs.

At Nhot Kho village, Tuyen, Quy, and Xi bought 0.45 grams of drugs and 2 synthetic drug pills from a Mong man. Then, all three of them used a portion of heroin and 1 synthetic drug pill together. Tuyen divided the remaining drugs into small amounts and gave them to Quy and Xi. When the three of them were riding a motorbike to Huoi Cang 1 village, Bac Ly commune, they were caught red-handed by the working group of the My Ly commune Border Guard Station and Bac Ly commune police. At the investigation agency, Tuyen, Quy, and Xi confessed to all of their crimes. In addition, Ven Van Xi also confessed to having gone to Nhot Kho village with some people from Muong Xen town to buy drugs more than 9 times.

Both were prosecuted for the crime of Illegal possession of narcotics. On June 20, 2017, the People's Court of Ky Son district sentenced Cut Van Tuyen to 15 months in prison and Tran Nhat Quy to 12 months in prison. As for the defendant Ven Van Xi, he was sentenced to 3 months and 28 days in prison, calculated from the date of detention, and was released after the trial because Xi was under 18 years old.
