Bayern Munich - Like an unfinished construction site!

(Baonghean.vn) - The team playing at Allianz Arena suffered a humiliating 0-2 defeat against Napoli in the third-place match of the Audi Cup 2017.

Witnessing the recent performances of coach Ancelotti's team, both experts and Bayern Munich fans are understandably disappointed and uneasy. Never before in the history of the Audi Cup has the "Bavarian giants" had such a dismal record. They lost both matches against Liverpool (0-3) and Napoli (0-2), in a manner befitting a mid-table team.

Looking at the bigger picture, in their last five matches, the team at Allianz Arena has only won once, suffering four convincing defeats. In China, Bayern Munich were thrashed 4-0 by AC Milan. In Singapore, after a narrow 3-2 victory against Chelsea, Ancelotti's team immediately suffered a defeat at the hands of Italian side Inter Milan (0-2).

Scoring only 3 goals while conceding 13 clearly shows serious problems in both defense and attack. Except for the match against Napoli, where coach Ancelotti fielded only reserve players, in the other four matches many key players were present across all positions. Alaba, Mast Hummels, Tolisso, Thiago, Vidal, Ribery, James Rodriguez, Muller, Lewandowski... all top players.

Watching Bayern Munich play, one gets the feeling that the "remnants" of Pep Guardiola's era still linger at the Allianz Arena. Ribery and his teammates still dominate the game, controlling possession with short passes and quick exchanges.

Statistically, in 4 out of 5 matches (excluding the game against Napoli), Bayern players consistently outperformed their opponents in terms of ball possession and shots on goal. However, goals remained elusive for the team led by coach Ancelotti.

Just take the match against Liverpool as an example to see the effectiveness of Bayern Munich. At the Allianz Arena, the "Bavarian giants" controlled the ball for 65% of the time, taking a total of 17 shots compared to Liverpool's 35% and 13 shots.

What was the final result? Bayern Munich suffered a crushing 0-3 defeat, after sharp strikes from Mane, Salah, and Sturridge of the visiting team. Clearly, this is not what we usually see from a team under Ancelotti's leadership.

Without quickly addressing the existing shortcomings at Bayern Munich, coach Ancelotti will follow in the footsteps of his predecessor Pep Guardiola, both in terms of results and his future in the position. Therefore, this season is crucial to the Italian strategist's fate at Allianz Arena. Coach Ancelotti is now like an architect standing in the middle of an unfinished construction site.
