Nghe An: Over 21,245 billion VND invested in building industrial infrastructure
(Baonghean.vn) - That is the information reported by the Provincial People's Committee to the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee during the 5 years of implementing Resolution No. 06-NQ/TU dated November 4, 2011 of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee (term XVII) "on industrial development, small-scale industry and craft village construction in the period 2011 - 2020".

| On the morning of June 28, Comrade Nguyen Dac Vinh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Nghe An Province, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee chaired a meeting of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee and departments and branches on a number of important issues. Attending the meeting were Comrade Nguyen Xuan Son - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Deputy Secretaries of the Provincial Party Committee: Nguyen Xuan Duong - Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Le Quang Huy, Nguyen Van Thong and comrades in the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Vice Chairmen of the Provincial People's Committee and representatives of the Central Party Committees and Office and departments and branches. |
According to the plan until 2020, Nghe An will have 50 industrial parks with a total planned area of 920.4 hectares. Most localities have industrial park plans to ensure that there is enough land to meet the investment needs of industrial production facilities.
By the end of 2016, the whole province had 33 industrial parks that had implemented investment and construction steps (establishing and approving detailed planning for industrial parks; establishing and approving investment projects for technical infrastructure of industrial parks; implementing investment in technical infrastructure of industrial parks and organizing to attract investment in production and business).
Of which: 18 industrial parks are in operation (10 industrial parks are full, 8 industrial parks are investing in infrastructure and have enterprises investing in production and business); 4 industrial parks are investing in infrastructure construction but no enterprises have invested in production; 11 industrial parks have established and approved detailed plans.

To build infrastructure for industrial parks, Nghe An province plans to mobilize over VND21,245.7 billion in capital, including investment from businesses and ODA capital. To date, over VND4,410 billion has been invested in 8 industrial parks and economic zones.
According to statistics from the Provincial People's Committee, the average growth rate of industrial production value in the period of 2011 - 2016 reached 15.07%, approximately reaching the target set by the Resolution (16-17%) and higher than the national average (15.07% compared to 9.64%).
Industrial products are mainly focused on and have developed quite well every year. Some products with large output and high value in the province's industrial product structure have developed rapidly, reaching or exceeding the Resolution's targets such as: Standard bricks, ceramic tiles, sugar, knitted products, garment products, fibers, processed tea, cassava starch, cement, hydropower plant capacity, etc. Some products have not reached or achieved lower targets than the targets (processed milk, beer, refined tin, superfine stone powder, rubber, etc.).

The total number of industrial enterprises in Nghe An province (excluding household and individual economic production establishments) by the end of 2016 was 886 enterprises, an increase of 199 enterprises compared to 2010. The total number of employees in industrial enterprises by 2016 was over 59,020 people, of which the processing industry accounted for the majority with 50,805 employees.
The Standing Committee of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee discussed solutions to improve the efficiency of industrial development in the province, focusing on building industrial park infrastructure; promoting the construction of seaports to serve development; and paying attention to the application of high technology in industrial parks.
Along with promoting investment attraction, it is necessary to increase attention to income, quality of life of workers in industrial zones and protect the ecological environment during industrial development.
