Gathering small breezes to create a storm.
(Baonghean) - Many people say that our fight against corruption has never been as strong or achieved as great results as it has been recently. What are your thoughts on this?
- They're absolutely right. The fight against corruption, as our Party leader has said, is now an inevitable trend and has reached a climax; no one can resist it. The concrete results have proven this, and everyone is eagerly awaiting further developments.
But I think…
- What do you think?

- All the anti-corruption cases and disciplinary actions against high-ranking officials that cause social uproar are handled by the central government; we don't see any local authorities contributing to those results. Therefore, some people assess that…
- It's like the top is moving while the bottom remains still, right?
- Don't you see that?
- That's true. But stillness doesn't mean doing nothing; it means taking action. However…
What's holding us back here?
- They still conduct inspections, investigations, draw conclusions, and handle cases of corrupt officials and party members who commit violations, but they do it quietly. Unlike the central government, which widely publicizes inspections and disciplinary actions through mass media for the public to know, at the local level...
- They just keep hiding things, being secretive, and hinting at things, without understanding why they do it.
- It's not hard to understand, because they're shy.
- What's there to be shy about? Why should I be shy?
- If everything is made public and complete, it might lead to accountability for allowing subordinates to commit so many violations. This shows that the inspection, supervision, and management of cadres and party members are problematic, affecting overall achievements... Therefore, "if the boss is bad, who will be ashamed?" So, inspections and disciplinary actions are carried out, but the fewer people who know, the better. Especially with regard to the press, in local areas, inspection and internal affairs are almost completely isolated.
- Thinking and acting like that is completely unacceptable. The fight against corruption and the handling of wrongdoings by officials and Party members must be done openly and transparently. This is not only to inform the public about the events and results, but also to create momentum and boost the movement, encouraging people to confidently offer suggestions and report acts of corruption and wrongdoing by officials and Party members. This cannot be done in a closed-door manner. Thinking "it's shameful to keep someone's own fault" is even more wrong. We must be open and transparent to contribute to a public outcry, leading the fight against corruption to ultimate victory.
