On June 28, in Minh Hop commune, Quy Hop district People's Court opened a mobile trial of a criminal case on the crimes of illegal drug trafficking, property theft and property destruction.

According to the indictment, at 7:30 a.m. on December 15, 2016, at the Quy Hop town stadium, Quy Hop district police caught Luong Quoc Binh (born in 1996), residing in Xai village, Lien Hop commune, in the act of illegally using drugs.

Confiscated in Binh's hand was a syringe containing a cloudy white solution suspected to be heroin, so a record was made to confiscate the evidence and the subject was taken to the police station for questioning.

At the investigation agency, Binh confessed that at around 9:30 p.m. on December 14, 2016, Luong Quoc Binh and Truong Van Nhiet (born in 1993), residing in Lien Hop commune, rode a motorbike to Bui Van Due's house in Dong Thuan hamlet, Dong Hop commune, Quy Hop district to buy a package of heroin. After selling heroin to Nhiet and Binh, Dui Van Due gave Nhiet a syringe and told Nhiet and Binh to use drugs together at his house.

At the trial, the defendant confessed to all of his crimes as stated in the indictment.

The trial panel sentenced defendant Due to 2 years in prison for the crime of “Illegal drug trafficking” as prescribed in Clause 1, Article 194 of the Penal Code and 7 years in prison for the crime of “Concealing the illegal use of drugs” as prescribed in Clause 2, Article 198 of the Penal Code. The total sentence for defendant Bui Van Due is 9 years in prison.

On the same day, the Court also tried and sentenced the defendants Nguyen Xuan Son (born in 1962), residing in Dong Nai hamlet, Chau Quang commune, to 2 years in prison for the crime of "Illegal drug trafficking", Truong Van Nhiet (born in 1993), residing in Quen hamlet, Lien Hop commune, Quy Hop district, to 18 months in prison for the crime of "Theft of property". Sentenced the defendant Tran Dinh Dinh (born in 1960), residing in Minh Dinh hamlet, Minh Hop commune, to 6 months in prison for the crime of "Property destruction"./.
