Attending the funeral of teacher Chung on July 4, the atmosphere of mourning covered the whole small neighborhood. The dilapidated house was nestled among dense bushes, the mournful cries filled the poor countryside that was once very peaceful. Party committees, authorities, relatives, friends, colleagues, neighbors… sadly and regretfully sent Ms. Chung to her final resting place.

Ms. Thuong - Chung's biological mother cried bitterly next to her daughter's coffin. She said: The night before the accident, I went to her house and told her to come sleep with me tonight, but she said no, she still has the house, chickens, dogs... She's used to being alone. I left with a nagging feeling in my stomach, but she kept waving her hands and saying it was okay... If only I hadn't listened to her.

Chung’s relatives said that Chung is the third child in a family of four sisters, most of whom are preschool teachers. Chung has been teaching under contract for more than 20 years since graduating and has only been employed for more than a year now.

At home, she was a beautiful, studious, and hard-working woman. Growing up, she went to preschool, got married, and had children. However, Chung had an unhappy marriage, often being beaten to the point of death by her abusive husband. After that, her husband left without a trace.

In 2007, the Tan Ky District People's Court granted her a divorce, despite her husband's absence. Since then, although many people have come and expressed their desire to be her life partner, she has remained single because she loves her children.

People living nearby said that Ms. Chung was loved by her neighbors because of her gentle and friendly personality. Because she taught in a remote area of ​​Tan Ky district, during the school year she stayed in the dormitory from the beginning of the week to the end of the week.

Ms. Ha - Principal of Phu Son Kindergarten said: Ms. Chung is a good teacher, exemplary, loved by students and trusted by colleagues. Although she has been a contract teacher for many years, she never thought of quitting her job. Recently, she happily received nearly 30 million VND in attraction money, and also showed us that she was preparing to build a house, the foundation and construction materials were quite complete.

The suspect met with many misfortunes.

Nearly 4 km from Ms. Chung's house is the house of suspect Nguyen Huu Son. The house is deserted and desolate. Mr. Tran Van Trung - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Nghia Dong commune is still in shock and said that he and the suspect live in the same neighborhood but still do not understand why suspect Son committed such a barbaric act.

Mr. Trung said: suspect Son is the third child in a family of four siblings. Like the victim, misfortune seems to fall on the shoulders of this man with a haggard face.

As soon as he reached adulthood, Mr. Son went to the South to start a business and got married there. The couple lived together for nearly 20 years but still had no children. Then conflicts due to poverty, the lack of children's laughter... made the couple's life increasingly difficult.

In 2009, Mr. Son returned to his hometown and lived with his eldest brother and his wife. Fate was ironic because both his eldest brother and his wife were mentally unstable, sometimes they got into fights, and when they met strangers or saw a crowd, they were both scared and ran away... Naturally, Mr. Son became the pillar of the family, taking care of the whole family.

Mr. Trung added: Last year, the Fatherland Front Committee of Nghia Dong commune supported Mr. Son with 2 pairs of breeding goats. He also tried to work hard to earn enough money to support his family besides his 2 sao of contracted rice fields.

Two months ago, while going to Nghia Hop commune to pick leaves to feed the goats, Mr. Son coincidentally met Ms. Chung. The two were just friends in the same situation. Mr. Son had wanted to marry Ms. Chung many times but was rejected until the day the serious crime happened...
