Nearly 100 people and vehicles straighten the Nam Huong River

(Baonghean.vn) - On August 6, the People's Committee of Chau Cuong commune, Quy Hop mobilized machinery, human resources, and material resources to straighten the flow of the Nam Huong river through Muong Ham hamlet, which was severely eroded by storm No. 2.

Within 1 day, Chau Cuong commune mobilized nearly 100 people in Muong Ham hamlet, 1 excavator, nearly 1,000 m³Sand, gravel and thousands of bamboo trees were donated by local people to build a barrier and straighten the flow of the Nam Huong River through Muong Ham hamlet, which was severely eroded, with a length of 70m and a width of 12m.

In particular, if the landslides of the Nam Huong River section passing through Muong Ham hamlet are not repaired, there is a risk that the landslides will reach the houses of 6 households living near this river.

It is known that from the beginning of 2017 until now, due to the impact of storms and rains, Chau Cuong commune has twice adjusted the flow of Nam Huong river through Muong Ham hamlet due to landslides.

This measure by the officials and people of Chau Cuong commune is only a temporary solution. In the long term, there needs to be investment from the State so that people living along the Nam Huong River do not have to worry every rainy and stormy season./.
