Ky Son organizes fire prevention drills for business establishments

(Baonghean.vn) - On July 6, Fire Police Department No. 6, under the Provincial Fire Police, organized a fire prevention and fighting, rescue drill for businesses in Muong Xen town (Ky Son).

With 15 fire prevention and fighting officers and 10 employees of petroleum business establishments in the area, they organized an experiment with a hypothetical situation: A petroleum kiosk belonging to Nghe An Mountainous Trade Joint Stock Company, during business operations, caused a fire and explosion due to carelessness.

The fire spread throughout the gas station and into the area where the gas and diesel tanks were located. The fire was particularly dangerous to the surrounding residential areas; the large amount of toxic smoke and gas emitted made it difficult for the gas station workers to put out the fire and escape.

As soon as the fire broke out, the local forces quickly mobilized vehicles and fire extinguishers to put out the fire and provide rescue. Upon receiving the fire alarm, Fire Police Department No. 6 also mobilized forces to promptly coordinate with functional forces to focus on putting out the fire and providing timely rescue.

Thanks to the smooth coordination in command as well as fire prevention and fighting techniques and equipment between the forces, the fire was controlled in a short time, the number of injured workers were rescued and given timely first aid.

The drill was successful according to the plan. Accordingly, the trainees, who are owners of businesses and business establishments in the area, were equipped with basic fire prevention skills, some preventive measures, safe escape and first aid in case of fire or explosion, in order to minimize damage to people and property./.
