Toyota and Mazda cars continue to reduce prices to welcome the Ghost Month

August 22, 2017 22:32

Mazda reduced prices for the third time in August, while Toyota Innova dropped to about 720 million, the lowest level ever.

On August 21, one day before entering the seventh lunar month or Ngau month, a time to abstain from shopping, Mazda and Toyota sales staff simultaneously announced new incentives for customers. Mazda adjusted prices for the third time within a month, while Toyota also reduced prices for Innova.

Compared to the most recent reduction on August 11, each Mazda car has been reduced by an additional 10 million, with the Mazda6 alone being reduced by 71 million.

In addition to the direct discount, Mazda also offers customers an additional year of insurance worth 9 million. In 2016, at the beginning of the Ngau season, the company also reduced prices, but after the 15th day of the lunar calendar, it increased to 10 million, at that time Mazda's sales were growing rapidly due to reasonable pricing policies. However, the current market situation is different, sales of all companies are decreasing compared to last year, although at the beginning of the year VAMA predicted a 10% growth, a time when the density of price reductions will be more dense.

Truong Hai's biggest competitor, Toyota, has also reduced prices. Toyota Vietnam has not yet announced any price reduction, but in reality, dealers have deeply reduced sales from 60-70 million to more than 100 million for all models. In particular, from August 21, the price of Innova cars has been deeply adjusted to decrease.

The Innova E version with a listed price of 797 million is now selling for 718 million, previously at its lowest price of 728 million. The remaining two versions are G listed for 859 and sold for 849 million, V listed for 995 and sold for 945 million. Most dealers in Hanoi are directing customers to buy the E version, because the G and V versions are out of stock. The two high-end versions are selling slowly, so the company is limiting production. A Toyota dealer in Cau Giay said that if you order the E version now, you will not have the car until November.

Innova E sells at 718 million.

The remaining Toyota models still maintain deep discounts such as Vios 65 million, Altis 110 million, Camry 100 million. Fortuner alone does not have a promotional discount because this model is still quite "hot", even customers who want to get it early need to buy additional accessories. Similar to Mazda, Toyota also gives customers a year of insurance.

Besides the two giants, other companies have also quietly reduced prices from dealers. "In the coming days, there will be more promotional programs from many companies," an industry expert revealed.

The Ngau season (lunar July) is the month when Vietnamese people abstain from shopping according to Vietnamese customs. This is the period when the market sells the slowest, and companies often stimulate demand with promotional policies. This year, besides the Ngau month, the market is also slowing down due to the waiting mentality for 2018, and the incentive packages of each company are also much more attractive. A discount of 100 million is no longer strange in the Vietnamese car market.
