(Baonghean.vn) - Morning of July 2,The Central Steering Committee for Humanitarian Medical Examination and Treatment launched the campaign.Launching ceremony of the Peak Month of Humanitarian Medical Examination, Treatment and Community Health Care in 2017 with the theme "Journey of Gratitude" in Khai Son commune, Anh Son district.
Before the launching ceremony, the working delegation of the Central Steering Committee for Humanitarian Medical Examination and Treatment and the leaders of Nghe An province held a flower offering ceremony and burned incense to pay tribute to the martyrs of the volunteer army at the Vietnam - Laos martyrs cemetery.

At the launching ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Thi Xuan Thu - President of the Vietnam Red Cross Society clearly stated the purpose and meaning of the program to pay tribute to heroic martyrs, wounded and sick soldiers and people with meritorious services to the revolution.
This is one of the main activities in the series of activities of the Association aimed at the poor people and policy families nationwide. According to the coordination regulations between the Ministry of Health, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross and the Association of Young Doctors, from 2014 to 2017, the Central Steering Committee for Humanitarian Medical Examination and Treatment mobilized over 230,000 doctors and medical staff to examine and provide free medicine to nearly 4.4 million people, giving 2.5 million gifts, with a total cost of nearly 90.8 billion VND.

The 2017 Humanitarian Medical Examination and Treatment and Community Health Care Program is an annual activity in the Program of coordination in implementing humanitarian medical examination and treatment activities in the period of 2014 - 2017 between the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society, the Ministry of Health, the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Young Physicians Association with the theme "Joining hands for community health". The target is to strive to examine, treat and provide free medicine to at least 1 million people each year.

This peak campaign, expected to take place within 1 month (from July 2 to July 31), strives to examine, treat and provide medicine for about 1 million people in 10 provinces and cities.

Appreciating the significance of the program, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee said that the above activity deeply demonstrates the morality of "When drinking water, remember its source", the gratitude of today's generations of people for the noble sacrifice of martyrs, war invalids in general and martyrs of the Vietnamese volunteer army in particular. Immediately after the launching ceremony, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society presented 250 million VND to Anh Son district to support the construction of 5 gratitude houses; presented gifts and visited some typical families among 50 policy families in Khai Son commune; presented 30 gifts, each worth 1 million VND to poor households in Anh Son district.

Also within the framework of the launching ceremony, in the morning and afternoon of July 2, the Young Doctors Association also organized medical examinations and provided free medicine to 1,000 people in 7 communes in the east of Anh Son district./.
