Official welcoming ceremony for General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong in the capital Naypyidaw

According to VNA special correspondent, at the invitation of President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar Htin Kyaw, at noon on August 24, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong arrived in the capital Naypyidaw, beginning a state visit to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar.

On the afternoon of August 24, the official welcoming ceremony for General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong was solemnly held at the Presidential Palace, Naypyidaw, according to the highest protocol reserved for heads of state. President Htin Kyaw presided over the welcoming ceremony.

At exactly 3:00 p.m. (local time), the motorcade carrying General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation entered the Presidential Palace.

President Htin Kyaw and many senior Myanmar officials warmly welcomed General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.

President Htin Kyaw invited General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong to step up to the podium. Military band played the national anthems of Vietnam and Myanmar.

President Htin Kyaw invited General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong to review the honor guard and introduce officials from both sides present at the welcoming ceremony.

Next, also at the Presidential Palace, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and President Htin Kyaw had a small meeting, after which the two sides held talks.

According to the program, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and President Htin Kyaw will witness the signing ceremony of many cooperation documents between the two sides./.
