A group of thieves committed 10 thefts in Yen Thanh, Con Cuong.

(Baonghean.vn) - The group led by Lo Van Minh committed 10 thefts in Yen Thanh, Con Cuong, and Dien Chau districts, then sold them for money to spend.

On June 30, the People's Court of Quy Hop district held a trial to try the criminal case against defendant Lo Van Minh and his accomplices, who were prosecuted for the crimes of "theft of property", "illegal possession of narcotics", "illegal possession of military weapons" and "receiving property obtained by others through crime".

According to the indictment, from April 2016 to January 2017, Lo Van Minh, Phung Dinh Tuan, Dang Trong Quynh, Tran Xuan Hung and Nguyen Viet Thinh repeatedly committed crimes of theft and consumption of property obtained by others through crime; Lo Van Minh also committed crimes of illegal possession of military weapons and illegal possession of narcotics.

Lo Van Minh (born in 1988), residing in Chau Thai commune; Tran Xuan Hung (born in 1983), residing in Chau Quang commune, both in Quy Hop district; Phung Dinh Tuan (born in 1989) and Nguyen Viet Thinh (born in 1994), both residing in Phu Thanh commune; Dang Trong Quynh (born in 1988), residing in Long Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district, committed 10 inter-district thefts and consumed property obtained by others' crimes.

At around 11:00 a.m. on April 4, 2016, Tuan and Quynh stole a motorbike from Mr. Le Van Thuyet in Long Thanh commune (Yen Thanh) and brought it to Hung's house, asking Hung to find a place to sell it. Hung then sold the motorbike for 3 million VND to Mr. Vi Van Hung in Chau Quang commune and divided the money.

Then, at around 12:00 on July 6, 2016, Tuan and Quynh stole a motorbike from Mr. Duong Trung Van in Nhan Thanh commune (Yen Thanh) and asked Hung to sell the motorbike to Lo Van Minh for 4.5 million VND and then split it.

At around 12:30 on July 22, 2016, Tuan and Quynh continued to steal the motorbike of Mr. Trinh Xuan Ke in Hong Thanh commune and asked Hung to sell it to Ms. Vi Thanh Na in Quy Hop town for 4.5 million VND and then split it.

Many times after that, Tuan and Quynh continued to commit many other thefts in the communes of Yen Thanh and Con Cuong districts.

During the process of executing the emergency search warrant for Lo Van Minh, the investigation agency discovered that Minh was in possession of 2 guns of various types, 17 military bullets of various types, and 5.155 grams of heroin.

At the trial, the defendants confessed to all their crimes as stated in the indictment.

It is known that defendant Lo Van Minh is a Party member. Defendant Phung Dinh Tuan has 4 previous convictions for “Theft of property” and “Fraudulent appropriation of property”. Defendant Dang Trong Quynh has 1 previous conviction for “Illegal trading of narcotics” and defendant Tran Xuan Hung has 1 previous conviction for “Receiving property obtained by another person through criminal acts”.

The People's Court sentenced defendant Lo Van Minh to 11 years and 6 months in prison for four crimes: "theft of property", "illegal possession of narcotics", "illegal possession of military weapons" and "receiving property obtained by others through crime".

The defendants Dang Trong Quynh was sentenced to 5 years in prison; Phung Dinh Tuan to 7 years in prison; Tran Xuan Hung to 3 years and 6 months in prison and Nguyen Viet Thinh to 9 months suspended sentence.

For Vi Van Hung, Vi Van Thanh, Vi Thanh Na, Nguyen Van Tan, Nguyen Van Ly, Truong Khac Thanh, Nguyen Van Dong, Phung Ngoc Manh and Tran Anh Tuan, who introduced, bought or used Tuan's car and his accomplices in the theft, because they did not know the car was stolen, they were not prosecuted.
