Dong Yen Pagoda gives 40 gifts to poor students

(Baonghean.vn) - Dong Yen Pagoda (Quynh Luu) recently held a Vu Lan festival to show gratitude to parents, attracting thousands of Buddhists and local people to attend.

At the ceremony, the pagoda coordinated with the local government and the Party Committee, the executive committee of Duc Long village, Quynh Thuan commune (Quynh Luu) to organize a procession of the Jade Buddha statue and the village's tutelary god from the communal house to the pagoda to perform the traditional ritual of the village with many activities including the ceremony and the festival...

On this occasion, Dong Yen Pagoda gave 40 gifts to poor and studious students, each gift in cash worth 300,000 VND. This is one of the annual humanitarian and charitable activities held during the Vu Lan season of filial piety at Dong Yen Pagoda.
