Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Nguyen Trong Thua said: Regarding the appointment file of Trinh Xuan Thanh, the issue of whether it is lost or not is still under review and investigation by the police agency. When we have results, we will notify.

"The Ministry of Home Affairs received two sets of documents, one with a red seal from Hau Giang requesting approval for the position of Vice Chairman of the province. The Ministry of Home Affairs' document has a copy stamped with "incoming dispatch". We still have the original, the copy with the incoming dispatch stamp is lost. We are closely coordinating with the Ministry of Public Security to review and investigate the organizations and individuals involved," said Mr. Thua.
