A man drowned while fishing in the river.

(Baonghean.vn) - Mr. Phan Manh Hung - Chairman of Thanh Phong Commune People's Committee (Thanh Chuong) said that a tragic drowning incident had just occurred in the area. The victim was Mr. Phan Trong Hien (60 years old).

According to Mr. Hung, at around 2:00 p.m. on August 25, local people were chopping firewood and discovered a man's body floating in the middle of the Gang River, flowing through Hamlet 6A, Thanh Phong Commune.

Upon receiving the news, the commune police arrived at the scene and, together with local residents, pulled the man’s body ashore. The victim was identified as Mr. Phan Trong Hien, a resident of Hamlet 5A, Thanh Phong Commune. At around 4 p.m., his family brought Mr. Hien’s body home for burial.

It is known that Mr. Hien has 6 children, the youngest son is in college. His wife had a serious illness and passed away many years ago. Mr. Hien sometimes goes to the Gang River (about 600 - 700 m from his house) to fish./.
