Senior officials of ASEAN, China meet on cooperation in the East Sea
Senior officials and maritime experts from China and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) will meet in Manila this week to discuss ways to enhance practical cooperation in the East Sea, the Philippine Department of Foreign Affairs announced on August 28.

The announcement said the workshop will take place on August 29-30 to discuss the full and effective implementation of the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the East Sea (DOC).
Philippine Foreign Secretary Alan Peter Cayetano said the meeting also sought to promote regional efforts to ensure peace and stability in the East Sea to help prevent maritime accidents, protect the marine environment and promote sustainable fishing activities./.
