The Swedish striker is recovering faster than expected, and could be offered a new contract by Man Utd.

Having been released by Man Utd since the beginning of the summer, Zlatan Ibrahimovic is still training at Carrington to regain his best physical condition. According to The Sun, Ibrahimovic's recovery process is progressing very positively. It is possible that he will be able to return to play much sooner than the initial estimate of late 2017 or early 2018.

According to The Sun, seeing Man Utd successfully recruit Romelu Lukaku, Ibrahimovic is even more eager to put on his boots and play. If that can happen before the new season takes place in mid-August, Ibrahimovic can absolutely be invited by coach Mourinho to sign a new contract.

The Swedish striker has received several offers from the US Major League Soccer, China and several other European clubs. But his number one priority is still to stay in Manchester.

Ibrahimovic ruptured his knee ligaments in a match against Anderlecht in April, and doctors said he would be out of action for the rest of the year. After undergoing surgery in early May, Ibrahimovic returned to the pitch, starting to touch the ball on June 1.

Doctor Freddie Fu, who treated Ibrahimovic, once affirmed: "Ibrahimovic possesses a perfect physical foundation, bone structure and muscles. Not only does he not have to retire, but he can continue to compete at the top level for many more years."
