Food prices stable on Independence Day September 2

On September 2, in many markets in Nghia Dan district and Thai Hoa town, vendors sold fresh food to meet consumer demand. Although it was Independence Day, the prices of food items remained stable compared to normal days. However, there were more people going to the market, everyone wanted to buy fresh food for their family meals.

Strolling through some markets in Nghia Dan district and Thai Hoa town, the buying and selling of fresh meat, fish and vegetables is quite busy. In general, prices do not fluctuate much. At Thai Hoa and Nghia Dan markets, most food prices remain the same as usual.

Specifically, live chicken costs 100,000 to 110,000 VND/kg; lean meat and pork butt prices range from 80,000 to 90,000 VND/kg; good quality beef costs 220,000 to 230,000 VND/kg; shrimp costs 210,000 VND/kg; squid costs 120,000 to 150,000 VND/kg; mustard greens cost 3 to 4 VND/bunch; tomatoes cost 25,000 VND/kg; squash costs 12,000 VND/kg; purple cabbage costs 29,000 VND/kg; raw vegetables of all kinds cost 35,000 VND/kg.

Ms. Phan Thi Hai, a consumer in Hoa Hieu ward, said: "On Independence Day like this, the prices of food have increased slightly, not significantly, I also buy and sell quickly so that people can sell out soon."

Traders also said they have prepared more goods than usual to serve consumer demand during the holiday. Ms. Truong Thi Hong, a trader at Nghia Hoi market, Nghia Dan said: "The purchasing power of food increased sharply during the September 2 holiday, but there was not much difference in price compared to normal days...".
