On September 2nd, in many markets in Nghia Dan district and Thai Hoa town, vendors displayed fresh food to meet consumer demand. Despite it being Independence Day, food prices remained stable compared to normal days. However, the markets were more crowded, with everyone wanting to buy fresh produce for their family meals.
Visiting several markets in Nghia Dan district and Thai Hoa town, the buying and selling of fresh food such as meat, fish, and vegetables is quite bustling. Generally, prices haven't fluctuated much. At Thai Hoa and Nghia Dan markets, most food prices remain the same as usual.
Specifically, live chicken costs 100,000 to 110,000 VND/kg; lean pork and pork loin cost between 80,000 and 90,000 VND/kg; good quality beef costs 220,000 to 230,000 VND/kg; shrimp costs 210,000 VND/kg; squid costs 120,000 to 150,000 VND/kg; leafy greens cost 3,000 to 4,000 VND/bundle; tomatoes cost 25,000 VND/kg; zucchini costs 12,000 VND/kg; purple cabbage costs 29,000 VND/kg; and various types of fresh vegetables cost 35,000 VND/kg.

Ms. Phan Thi Hai, a consumer in Hoa Hieu ward, said: "Even on Independence Day like this, the prices of food items have only increased slightly, not significantly. I also buy and sell quickly so that people can sell out their goods soon."
Small traders also said they had prepared additional supplies compared to normal days to meet consumer demand during the holiday. Ms. Truong Thi Hong, a small trader at Nghia Hoi market in Nghia Dan district, said: "The demand for food increases sharply during the September 2nd holiday, however, there is not much difference in price compared to normal days..."
