Pogba on crutches after win over Basel
Man Utd's most expensive player could be out for weeks with a thigh injury in his first match of the 2017-2018 Champions League.
Paul Pogba appeared to have suffered a muscle strain after a tackle in the 19th minute. The French midfielder immediately signaled for a substitution and headed straight down the tunnel. Mirror journalist David McDonnell revealed that Pogba had to leave Old Trafford on two crutches. This was a bad sign for the team's fans.
"It looks like he has a hamstring problem," Gerrard said alongside Lampard on BT Sport. "I've spoken to Frank about Pogba. It looks like he'll be out for three weeks. If it's a minor strain, he could be back in a week. But I'm worried he'll be out for three weeks, maybe more."

This is the second hamstring injury Pogba has suffered in six months. He was taken off early in the Europa League game against Rostov in March. The 24-year-old returned three weeks earlier than expected. But the problem does not appear to have been completely resolved.
"Such an injury is not too troublesome at the beginning of the season," Lampard also spoke up. "But Pogba had such an injury at a crucial stage last season. However, Man Utd have a strong squad. After replacing Pogba, Fellaini played well. Pogba may have to rest for three to four weeks, but he will come back and be as strong as ever."
Mourinho's side are in a tough run of five games in 17 days before the international break returns in October. They face Everton, Southampton and Crystal Palace in the Premier League, a tough trip to CSKA Moscow and a comfortable League Cup clash with Burton Albion.
Pogba’s injury is an opportunity for Fellaini, Herrera and captain Carrick to prove their worth to Mourinho. In the 3-0 win over Basel on the night of September 12, it was Fellaini who helped the “Red Devils” open the scoring with his signature close-range header.
