A Hmong man was arrested for bringing 20 blocks of heroin from Laos to Vietnam.

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of July 13th, Lieutenant Colonel Tran Phuc Tu - Head of the Tuong Duong District Police, announced that the unit had successfully dismantled Special Case 1517M, arresting Xong Ba Tenh (born in 1986), residing in Buoc Mu village, Na Ngoi commune, Ky Son district, and seizing 20 blocks of heroin.

After more than two months of investigation and monitoring Xong Ba Tenh's movements, the detectives reported that on the morning of July 13th, the suspect would be carrying a quantity of drugs from Ky Son through Luu Kien commune to National Highway 7 to transport them south for sale. The special task force decided to deploy forces to set up roadblocks and apprehend him.

At approximately 9:40 AM, Xong Ba Tenh was driving his motorbike through Luu Kien commune when traffic police officers requested him to stop for an administrative check. The suspect, carrying a backpack, attempted to flee but was apprehended and taken to the Luu Kien commune People's Committee office for questioning.

Upon inspecting Xong Ba Tenh's backpack, the special task force discovered and seized 20 blocks of heroin. Initially, Xong Ba Tenh confessed that the drugs were purchased from Laos and he was on his way to Vietnam for sale.

Currently, the Tuong Duong District Police are finalizing the case file to hand over the suspect and evidence to the Narcotics Crime Investigation Department of the Nghe An Provincial Police for further investigation. This is the largest drug trafficking case ever successfully dismantled by the Tuong Duong District Police.
