(Baonghean.vn) - After stealing the motorbike, Tran Ngoc Xiem drove straight to Hanoi to sell it, but he didn't expect to be discovered and detained by the authorities in Cau Giay District.

The Investigation Police Department of Nghi Loc District has just issued a decision to initiate a criminal case and prosecute Tran Ngoc Siem (born in 1983), residing in Hamlet 3, Cam Son Commune (Anh Son District), for the crime of theft.

According to investigation documents, on the afternoon of August 10th, the Nghi Loc District Police received a report from Mr. Tran Cong Tuan (born in 1970), residing in Hamlet 2, Nghi Long Commune, Nghi Loc District, regarding the theft of his Honda Air Blade FI motorcycle, license plate 37B2 - 129.88, which was parked in his yard.

According to the victim's statement, the motorbike was stolen around 10:00 AM that same day. The Nghi Loc District Police conducted a scene investigation, searched for clues, and reviewed prominent criminal suspects in the area to conduct an investigation.

While in the process of identifying the suspect, on August 11th, the Nghi Loc District Police received information from the Cau Giay District Police in Hanoi that they had just apprehended Tran Ngoc Siem, whose registered address is in Nghe An, while he was driving a red and black Air Blade FI motorcycle with license plate 37B2 - 129.88.

After completing the paperwork, the Nghi Loc District Police issued an urgent arrest warrant for Tran Ngoc Xiem for the crime of theft. At 2 PM on August 12th, Tran Ngoc Xiem and the stolen goods were transported to the Criminal Investigation Department of the Nghi Loc District Police for further investigation.

At the Nghi Loc District Police Investigation Department, Xiêm confessed that at around 7:00 AM on August 11th, he took a bus from Cam Son commune, Anh Son district, to a production facility belonging to Prison No. 3 in Nghi Quang commune, Nghi Loc district, to visit a friend. Upon reaching the intersection of N5 and National Highway 1A in Nghi Long commune, Nghi Loc district, he got off the bus and walked towards the Nam Cam Industrial Park. Passing by Mr. Tran Cong Tuan's house, he noticed a motorbike parked in the yard with the key still in the ignition. Xiêm took the motorbike out, started the engine, and drove straight to Hanoi to find a place to sell it.

While driving on Nguyen Khanh Toan Street, Cau Giay District, Hanoi, Xiêm was stopped for an administrative check by law enforcement. During the check, Xiêm exhibited several suspicious behaviors, so he was taken to the police station for questioning. There, Xiêm confessed to his criminal act.

It is known that Xiêm had just finished serving a prison sentence for theft in April 2017.

The case is currently being processed according to legal regulations.
